Annotation

This article presents that cultural hybridity proposes a notable way of synthesizing the study of culture and communication in the globalization context. It examines the historical evolution of rap and hip-hop as translocal cultural forms, with roots in U.S. African-American culture, but adapted in multiple ‘translocal’ contexts around the world, like in the very successful Chinese online entertainment program The Rap of China.
