Annotation

This inquiry assayed the L1 strategies in CLIL classes concerning a) type of key strategies and techniques, and b) goal. Results state that students display a frequent, intuitive, non-systematic use of the L1, and that the absence of ability in the L2 is a crucial factor in clarifying this overuse. The use of the L1 does not appear to impact content learning negatively, albeit it plainly abates the time students dedicate to the use of the L2.
