This paper centers on the perception and expression of emotions by 72 Polish–English bilingual immigrants living in England and Ireland from 1 to 324 months. Results state that socialisation process, self-perceived L2 proficiency and frequent L2 use might be the crucial factors defining successful emotion communication in the foreign language.
