Annotation

This introductory paper provides an overview of the existing research into different aspects of humour and identity. Its focus is on humorous identities and identities that are constructed employing humour. It proposes the key findings concerning how ‘joker’, professional, ethnic and gender identities are constructed and negotiated in discourse.
