This paper reviews inquiry that employs conversation analysis (CA) to analyze online interaction. Key areas of this inquiry are addressed: turn taking, sequence organization, repair, openings, and embodied conduct. The use of CA terminology when analyzing online interaction is also debated. This review suggests that CA can contribute to broader discussions about the role of technology in society. Data are in American English, British English, and German.
