An attempt to show that psycholinguistic considerations may be applicable to discourse studies, with special reference to the notion of interpretive depth or intensity of text processing (as discussed by G.Miller and P.N.Johnson-Laird (1976: 'Language and perception')) and its correlation with contextual factors.
