The author develops the thesis that in every attempt to make an assertion A with the intention to support another assertion B there are several presuppositions. One of these presuppositions is that it is possible to draw a conclusion from A to B. After comparing his theory of argumentation with the way argumentation is analysed in the context of logic the author applies his theory to a debate of the German Parliament.
