The article documents the formal and functional plethora of phraseological items that are borrowed from English into Norwegian and focuses on two particular cases, the Norwegian equivalents of "the elephant in the room" and "couldn't care less". It compares contemporary corpus data from English and Norwegian and shows that these are indeed borrowings.
