Annotation

The relation between semantic structures, possible worlds, and speaker's meanings is offered as an explanation of the differences between casual meaning, literal meaning, indirect meaning, and metaphorical meanings. These altered relations between semantic structures and contexts in the determination of meaning are used to account for some peculiarities of written language and literacy.
