Annotation

P. suggests that the separate development of psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics might be replaced by an integrated study combining both psycholinguistic (i.e. individual) and sociolinguistic (i.e. social and contextual) aspects of the functioning of language. The theory of 'functional stylistics' is said to provide the linguistic prerequisites for a postulated 'psycho-socio-linguistics'.
