Annotation

Semantics is said to be concerned with rules which constitute and control an aspect of the social behavior of members of communities, and as such it is a political subject. But politics is about how communities enforce their rules of behavior rather than the content of the rules; it is argued that linguists have failed to grasp this point insofar as it relates to semantics.
