After introducing the notion of 'insertion sequences' (i.e. question-answer sequences inserted between an initial question and its answer), S. addresses the following problem: a location can be described in several different ways; how is it that on particular occasions of use some members of the set of possible descriptions will be selected whereas others will be rejected?
