Annotation

An examination and assessment of J. Austin's methodological notion of linguistic phenomenology. A. objects that Austin's account is inconsistent, and presupposes a word-world relationship which cannot be justified. A radical difference between Austin's and Wittgenstein's attitude toward ordinary use is indicated.
