Annotation

A theory of 'word expert parsing' is presented, and defended as a plausible theory of human language comprehension. The hypothesis says that most linguistic and conceptual knowledge relevant to comprehension is contained in modular, autonomous 'word experts', and that comprehension is the interaction of such experts as they construct and exchange information in reaction to input sentences in both discourse and real-world contexts.
