The authors exemplify one approach to the problem of the relationship between semantics and pragmatics, viz. radical pragmatics. They discuss some problems for the 'standard version' of this approach, and propose some modifications. One of the central aspects of their discussion is the attempt to show that 'presuppositions' can be reduced to matters of entailment and nonconventional conversational inferences.
