A. and Z. present a procedure for conversational analysis in two stages; macro- and micro-analysis. The task of the first stage, which has complete conversations as its starting point, is to provide smaller sequences consisting of speech acts, i.e. exchanges. In the second stage these exchanges are analyzed into speech acts and their internal structure is studied.
