S. contributes to the study of how children's language is related to the situations in which it is used. The focus is on how children and mothers use language to create and maintain a make-believe world in the doll's house, on referential communication about this make-believe world, and on how they use language to create make-believe telephone conversations (on the basis of video-recorded empirical data).
