Annotation

The aim is to outline a model for the common grammatical description of several types of variation, such as code switching, code shifting, and single parameter variation, in the linguistic behavior of Italian migrant children in Germany. On the basis of this model it is shown that the relevance of the phenomenon of structural variation cannot be captured unless it is complemented by an analysis of its social meaning.
