The main structure of the news story is shown to be a continued specification (in terms of who, how, why, etc.) of a general statement offered from the very beginning. Items of specification are selected and ordered according to their actuality or other assumed relevance for the readers, and so tend to miss or even block a causal understanding of the story presented.
