U. argues that the doctrine of performatives as stated and criticized in J.L. Austin (1962: 'How to do things with words'; 1963: 'Performative-constative' and 1970: 'Performative utterances'), is rather different from his original conception of the theory, which was largely satisfactory and not subsumable under the theory of illocutionary forces.
