V. proposes a pragmatically based analysis of the notion 'text', in which the concept of acceptance (introduced in R.M. Martin (1959: 'Toward a systematic pragmatics')) would be central since the most basic operation a reader can be said to perform, is that of accepting (or rejecting) sentences in a text.
