An analysis of Dutch 'nooit' (never), 'soms' (sometimes), and 'altijd' (always): V. argues that their quantifying function concerns a pre-existing domain of presuppositions, and that the nature of the situation to which the sentence refers determines the nature of this domain of quantification.
