Annotation

This study documents English narrative development in Keres-speaking native American children, identified as regular and special education students. The narratives were evaluated in terms of syntactic and story grammar complexity, and use of landscape of consciousness elements. Many stories reflected features of native American syntactic and story structure and story content.
