This collective volume sets out to clarify the concepts of direct and indirect speech through an investigation of reported speech in different languages, addressing some common topics, such as the grammatical distinctions between direct speech and indirect speech; the semantics of verbs of reports and the with indirect speech associated switches or deictic shifts.
