This crosslinguistic study compares a broad range of language-specific studies, containing detailed semantic descriptions of the meanings of culturally noticeable emotion words and expressions. The studies include Amharic, Chinese, German, Japanese, Lao, Malay, Mbula, Polish and Russian, and draw on independently constructed conceptual universals.
