Annotation
This study on the syntax and semantics of names explores the occurence of names in two fundamental settings: one involving vocatives and their use in naming predications, the other their use as arguments of predicators, in relation to English, French, Greek, and Seri, and a variety of other languages. The study discloses that the semantic status of names, prototypicality included, is vital to the comprehension of their morphosyntax and role in derivational connections.
