The case of Albanian economic migration in the 1990s to the village of Metsovo, (Greece), illustrates how the communicative need via a common code with the local, mostly bilingual Greek-Vlach speaking population, created revival conditions for and changing attitudes towards the otherwise increasingly abandoned Vlach among the Vlach-Albanian speaking part of the immigrants.
