This critical discourse analytic study of the Naivasha language provisions as Sudanese political discourse, shows that the promoted discourse of ‘linguistic indigenousness’ is ideologically motivated. A specific type of federalism appears to be the most suited political system for the effectuation of this language policy (of self-determination).
