This study compares verb phrases in Ewe-English codeswitching, spoken in Ghana, and Gengbe-French codeswitching, spoken in Togo. Given the morphosyntactic similarity of the two Gbe varieties, striking morphosyntactic resemblances appear between bilingual clauses comprising English verbs and French verbs.
