This paper describes the historical and actual (socio)linguistic situation of a Czech language minority in the south-western Romanian Banat region. Then, using the ORAL corpus for Common Czech (CC), and the BANAT corpus for Banatian Czech (BC), it is shown that some of the examined syntactic and morphosyntactic properties formerly fixed as typical for Bígr Czech, are similarly extant in Common Czech used in the Czech Republic.
