Annotation

This study asserts that the grammaticalization of object pronouns is basically distinct from that of subject pronouns. Albeit object pronouns may be fast early grammaticalizers, they do not progress further to attain the stage of obligatory agreement markers typical of subject agreement. Typically, object markers stay at the stage of Differential Object Indexing.
