Filler in Longxi Qiang has evolved uses of focus marker and discourse marker. These three functions propose diverse syntactic, semantic and discourse traits. A linguistic form làmò may produce implicature. Hearers can derive speakers's communication intent from it. Crosslinguistically, particle ne in sentence-intermediate position in Mandarin Chinese has similar discourse marker function with làmò in Longxi Qiang, a Tibeto-Burman language.
