This paper comments on the findings of a longitudinal study that explores the influence of the home language on the development of the Dutch language proficiency of primary school children aged 7-10, distinguishing between native Dutch speakers, Dutch dialect, Frisian and Limburgish speakers and native Turkish/Moroccan speakers.
