This paper reanalyzes a Nakota storytelling performance that combines two semiotic channels, i.e. a verbal -spoken Nakota- and a noverbal -Plains Sign Talk-.The focus on pragmatic function illustrates the theoretical value of a dynamic conception of embodiment in the discursive practices of human agents.
