A. reports on a series of studies replicating A.H. Bloom's (1981: 'The linguistic shaping of thought') inquiry into Chinese vs. English interpretations of a counterfactual story, which was said to be evidence for a weak form of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. The present inquiry reveals no evidence for the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis.
