H. examines a number of aspects in the field of ethnicity-related research: ethnic fusion and fission, language planning, bilingualism. Special attention is paid to the concept of of accultivation and its formulization. H. argues that an analysis of ethnicity in a frame work of ecological relations proves to be the most fruitful.
