Annotation

This paper criticizes the difference/cultural approach to the study of sex differences in language use, arguing that categorizing men and women as belonging to different cultures is too simplistic to explain mixed-sex conversation and that it is not appropriate to consider 'power' and 'culture' as two independent concepts.
