Drawing on interview data with various groups of refugee children who emigrated to Norway at different times – Jewish children (1938), Hungarian children (1956), Tibetan children (1964) and a multiethnic group of children (1990), this paper argues that there is a connection between the recognition they receive and their social integration and identity formation.
