This paper offers an overview of the shift in education policies for second language acquisition to centre stage in many postindustrial societies, due to increased economic and political migration, and explores how the involved technology-driven pedagogy may be used to support ESL/ESOL second language programmes for adult immigrants in various English speaking countries.
