Annotation

As it was found in this study that the contextual characteristics of an elementary school setting often limited bilingual kindergarteners' access to friendships within their grade-level English-dominant classrooms, changes were made in instructional practices as well as in the English second language classroom and bilingual program design in order to make greater interaction possible between native English and native Spanish speakers.
