This article discusses how the Asian rush to a global economic market, determining communication processes, has compelled governments to power sharing with national and multi-national private commercial concerns, thus impeding chances for rational and autonomous public communication required for liberal democracy and completely changing the very structure of institutions defining communication policy and practice.
