This study explores what discursive strategies were deployed by the Turkish Islamist press in meaning (re)construction of natural disasters in Turkey, including two massive earthquakes (in 1976 and 1999) and a drought (in 2007). They all used a religious reference frame and one important discursive strategy function was to conceal political mismanagement.
