This paper surveys 40 years of language and culture change in the Solomon Islands' region where the four Reefs-Santa Cruz (RSC) languages are spoken. Particular linguistic changes and related sociological factors are discussed, and the vitality level for each language is established via the recently presented Extended Graded Intergenerational Disruption Scale (EGIDS; Lewis and Simons 2010).
