Annotation

Comparing the Malaysian and the South African language support for acquiring English as a second language in school contexts, this paper argues that the Malaysian experience, providing a broad support range to teachers and learners with limited English proficiency, and using Malay as language of instruction besides English, might benefit the African situation.
