This volume explores the pragmatic value of utterances of selected second-language students at the University of Venda (South-Africa), and in particular their meaning-creation strategies and skills. The study clearly demonstrates the multi-dimensional thought processes involved, the nature of the communication and the amount of linguistic interaction required in order to produce meaning.
