This paper underlines the evolution of the German media’s purport on the Greek financial crisis over time, and concentrates on metaphorical language use in the news coverage of this crisis by three akin international news magazines: SPIEGEL (Germany), The Economist (the UK) and TIME (the USA), opposing the depiction of Greece with the portrayal of larger owing European countries such as Spain and Italy.
