Annotation

Exploring the metadiscourse -theorized to reveal thought mediation during essay-composing-, in fifth graders' reflective essays, it is shown that small-group Collaborative Reasoning (CR)-exposed writers are more committed to how readers will receive their arguments and seize more argument-increasing formal elements, thus disclosing cross-modal transmission from oral to written discourse.
