Annotation

Complexity, accuracy and fluency (CAF) indices notably, yet to a small extent, portend L2 communicative proficiency. Filled pause frequency, a fluency defect trait, appears the best skill predictor, as false starts also do for advanced L2 speakers. Task type does not impact the relation between linguistic features and L2 proficiency.
