Annotation

This experiment discovers that political sophisticates are more efficient than novices at decreasing undesirable gender-grounded political stereotypes. It has two major implications for communication research. First, the impact of gender-based automatic stereotyping—caused by the information environment—on political judgments may not be as strong as sketched by some of the current literature. Second, this study joins eye movements to the armory of tools available to communication scholars interested in estimating latent stereotyping forms.
