This paper consists of three parts. In the first part, it curtly proposes the history and theoretical backcloth of language psychology; in the second, it casts some of the parallels and odds between language psychology and psycholinguistics, displaying that albeit they are linked, the disciplines have distinct starting points and some distinct epistemological concerns. In the third part, it explains how the classic queries of language psychology are still being handled in diverse modes in linguistics and adjacent specialties. The disciplinary name of language psychology is not broadly used, but its research queries are sure still pivotal to many fields of language studies.
